Be A Responsible Visitor, Care for Carbondale

It is our responsibility to respect and protect our state’s natural resources. Through responsible tourism, we encourage visitors and residents alike to be aware of their economic, social, and environmental impact on these special places. Through organizations like Leave No Trace and the Colorado Tourism Office, we can supply the necessary educational resources to help keep Colorado, Colorado.

What is Responsible Tourism?

Responsible tourism is the act of making choices, on an individual level, that supports the longevity of tourism in a particular location, respecting the environment and trying to improve the quality of life for the local population.

Why is Responsible Tourism Important to Us?

It’s no secret, Colorado has seen a significant increase in tourism over the last four years. With more people coming to visit our national parks, utilize our trail systems, and eat and stay in our towns, it is our responsibility to help educate and encourage those visitors to leave no trace. Through educational resources, conversations, and advocating responsible tourism we can help to keep our beautiful home maintained for future generations to come.

What We’re Doing to Advocate for Responsible Tourism

We’re partnering with The Colorado Tourism Office and Leave No Trace to make sure that everyone understands how to Care for Colorado and help maintain its natural beauty! We encourage you to watch this video from Care for Colorado and to keep these seven principles in mind while enjoying the outdoors to help minimize your impact.
